Egypt's Red Sea coast extends from the Gulf of Suez to the border of Sudan. Flanked by red mountain ranges, ancient mariners dubbed it the Mare Rostrum, or Red Sea. Adorned with ancient ports above and brilliant coral reefs below the surface, the Red Sea has a rich maritime history stretching back to Pharaonic times. Nowadays, this is quite simply the best diving and fishing country in the world. As well as the 800 species of fish are some fascinating soft white sands and mangrove lagoons offering repose.
The property market along these white shores is red-hot. Latest figures from the reveal that property prices in Egypt have risen 50% in the past two years, with economic growth on target for the 20% predicted for this year. As an emerging market, supply cannot keep up with demand, despite massive investments.
